Christine Barney, rbb Public Relations
Christine Barney is CEO and managing partner of rbb Public Relations,
a 28-person, full-service public relations firm. On top of the firm's
multiple Silver Anvils, PR Platinum and SABRE awards, rbb was named
the 2008 Agency of the Year by PRWeek magazine. Barney is accredited
by the Public Relations Society of America and oversees the strategic
development of all client programs with an eye toward ensuring meaningful
results are measured and achieved. Barney develops and coordinates multifaceted

Michael Cherenson, APR,
Success Communications Group, Chair-elect, Public Relations Society
of America
In 2007, Michael Cherenson was named Chair-elect of the Public Relations
Society of America (PRSA), the world's largest organization for public
relations professionals, with more than 32,000 members, 109 Chapters
nationwide, and 19 Professional Interest Sections. Cherenson will assume
the role of PRSA Chair and CEO in 2009. Prior to his election, he served
as PRSA Secretary and was a three-year member of the organization's
Board of Directors. Cherenson's expertise extends to all disciplines
of public relations, including corporate, marketing, internal and crisis
communication, government relations, event management, and interactive
public relations. At Success Communications Group, he serves as the
senior public relations counselor and strategist, and is involved with
all public relations activities for the firms' diverse clientele. A
18-year industry veteran and the author of three studies on the impact
of reputation, Cherenson is Accredited in Public Relations (APR) by
the Universal Accreditation Board and holds an Advanced Certification
in Political Management from the Graduate School of Political Management
(GSPM) at George Washington University, Washington, DC.

C.A. Clark, Miles Media Group
C.A. Clark is Vice President of Electronic Publishing at Miles Media
Group, Inc., the largest destination publisher, both in print and on
the web, in the United States. C.A is responsible for guiding the integration
of design, architecture and technology in the electronic products provided
by Miles Media Group. He works closely with destination marketing organizations
across the country, promoting the technology and comprehensive range
of publishing services that fosters tourism and delivers visitors. C.A.
has worked exclusively in the electronic publishing business for over
12 years and has been involved in every aspect of web site production
from strategic planning to server side scripting. He has personally
built or been instrumental in over 100 web sites since 1995. C.A. has
a B.A. in Studio Art from the University of Iowa. His expertise includes
web usability, navigation, architecture, design and functionality.

Elliot Cohen, Cohen Crisis Management
Cohen Crisis Management is led by one of the most experienced media
relations and crisis management professionals in the state of Florida.
Elliot Cohen ran one of the largest media relations offices in the state
of Florida as Director of Media Relations for the Broward County Sheriff's
Office, the largest fully accredited sheriff's department in the nation.
He was directly responsible for creating and implementing countless
crisis management plans and public relations campaigns. Previously,
Cohen's experience included heading up the media relations operations
for the City of West Palm Beach, Florida as well as for the DA's Office
in the 30th Judicial Disrict of Tennessee. He has experience in the
political arena as well, serving on election campaigns in several roles
including Communications Director. Cohen spent over a decade as a broadcast
reporter in some of the nation's largest media markets including New
York City, Miami and West Palm Beach. He worked on both the local and
network levels with his stories featured on networks such as CNN, CBS
News, ABC News, and the Associated Press.

Marvin Dejean, Poweri
Marvin Dejean is the Senior Vice President of Media Strategies at POWERi.
He leads the interactive and digital public relations initiatives at
the company. Dejean has an extensive background in marketing and public
relations having lead several marketing and public campaigns for various
companies and not-for-profit organizations. He served as the VP of Public
Relations for Innovative Communications Corporation in 2007 where he
handled all marketing strategies in the Caribbean. In 1999, Mr. Dejean,
along with two other Haitian-Americans formed Minority Development &
Empowerment/Haitian Community Center, the largest private not-for profit
organization serving the Haitian and Caribbean communities in Broward
County. As the Vice President of Business Development of Minority Development
& Empowerment Inc., he handled all fundraising efforts and corporate
collaborations with private and public organizations. Mr. Dejean is
the recipient of numerous awards to include The Maroone/South Florida
Business Journal "Up & Comers" Award in 2003; The NAACP Social Justice
Award, the Knight of Grandeur Award from the Yellow Rose Society of
South Florida, as well as a Leadership in Partnership Award from the
Census Bureau. In addition, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation honored Mr.
Dejean as one of Fort Lauderdale's "finest" for his work in promoting
awareness of the disease by raising funds and resources. He also excelled
during a long military career where he was decorated for his work as
a combat medic during his tour of duty in the Desert Storm/Desert Shield
military operation in the Middle East. Mr. Dejean has also the honor
of being a member of the prestigious Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, and
the unique position of being the first "Mr. Black University of Miami".
He is also the 2002 recipient of the T.J. Reddick Bar Association Community
Award, and a graduate of Leadership Broward Class XXII. Mr. Dejean is
the host of his own television commentary show entitled "Caribbean Pulse"
on Island TV in Miami where he has the occasion to interview prominent
individuals such as Dr. Shalala, President of The University of Miami
and Miami-Dade Mayor Carlos Alvarez on issues affecting the Caribbean
communities in South Florida.

Bill Jong-Ebot, Florida Memorial University
Bill Jong-Ebot is an educator, a media practitioner, and a researcher.
He is head of Journalism & Mass Communication at Florida Memorial University
and a consultant at Alpha Marketing & Management Group, Inc. He began
his foray into public relations in 1987 as a public affairs intern,
Wisconsin Department of Health and Human Services. Since then he has
provided public relations services to tourist boards, academic institutions,
and businesses in Africa, the Caribbean and the United States. He is
a frequent organizer and presenter at conferences. He presented "Global
Journalism and Public Relations Initiative" at the World Public Relations
Festival, Cape Town, South Africa, May 14, 2007. He is a member of PRSA,
the Minority Media and Telecommunications Council, National Black Public
Relations Society, and Association for Education in Journalism and Mass
Communication. He is co-author of Press Freedom and Communication in
Africa.

Geri Evans, Evans PR Group
Geri Evans, MA, APR, is an experienced public relations professional,
public speaker, writer, consultant, and educator. Prior to opening her
own public relations firm in 2003, she was vice president of public
relations for the Florida Hospital Association for four years and served
as the director of corporate public relations for a boutique hotel chain
in Orlando for three years. She taught communications on a full-time
or part-time basis for 26 years, was a special features and sports editor
for three years, and developed and taught award-winning reading programs
to at-risk children. Geri is a popular public speaker herself giving
workshops on a variety of topics from the art of self-promotion to leadership
to gender communication. Highly active in the Central Florida community,
Geri is a graduate of Leadership Orlando, past- president of the Orlando
Breakfast Rotary Club, past-president of the Orlando Chapter of Public
Relations Society of America and serves on several community boards.
She also is chairwoman of a national healthcare pr and marketing conference
slated for September.

Rosanna Fiske, APR, Florida International University
Rosanna Fiske, APR is graduate coordinator and associate professor of
advertising and public relations at Florida International University.
Fiske began her career as a journalist and then moved to marketing and
corporate communications. She held senior communications counsel, marketing,
and management positions in agency, corporate and media. Most recently,
she was partner and senior counsel at Communiqu Group, a Miami-based
public relations, public affairs, and advertising firm with national
and international clients. Prior to that, Fiske was vice president at
Ketchum Miami, where she was responsible for the global account direction
of consumer-marketing clients, overseeing work completed in the U.S.,
Asia, Europe and Latin America. Fiske has worked directly with Fortune
500 CEOs and senior management teams in strategic planning, management
structuring, and return-on-investment initiatives. She has led programs
including crisis and employee communications, multicultural initiatives,
and strategic and executive communications for a number of industry
leaders including Charles Schwab & Co., MTV Networks, GE, American Airlines,
MCI, Anheuser-Busch Co., and Wells Fargo Bank. The first Hispanic woman
named president of PRSA Miami and an officer and member of PRSA's national
board of directors, Fiske received PRSA's Multicultural Communications
Section 2002 D. Parke Gibson Pioneer Award -- the nation's highest individual
honor in multicultural communications as well as two Silver Anvils,
a Bronze Anvil, and other awards recognizing her work.
Rick Hirsch, The Miami Herald
Rick Hirsch has been a journalist in South Florida for 28 years, all
of them at The Miami Herald. As managing editor for multimedia and new
projects, Hirsch oversees the news organization's websites, video and
radio operations and instant news (mobile, e-mail, etc). The Herald's
web sites include two of the nation's busiest news sites (miamiherald.com
and elnuevoherald.com), as well as Miami.com and Miamimoms.com. In radio,
The Miami Herald is the local news vendor for WLRN-FM, the National
Public Radio affiliate in South Florida. A staff of six radio professionals,
working with dozens of Herald reporters, produce 18 news broadcasts
each weekday. It also partners with WFOR-CBS 4 and WLRN-TV, producing
news content and public affairs programming. Hirsch is vice chair of
the University of Florida Journalism Advisory Council and a board member
of the Florida Society of Newspaper Editors. He lives in Miami Beach.

Karen M. Jones
DHL Express
Karen M. Jones is Senior Vice President, Corporate Marketing & Communications,
for DHL Express Americas, and is responsible for building the DHL brand
through e-commerce, product marketing, advertising, brand management,
marketing communications, direct marketing, sponsorships, public relations,
employee communications and community affairs. With nearly 20 years
experience in global brand building and marketing, Ms. Jones sits on
the U.S. Management Board (USMB) at DHL Express. Prior to joining DHL
in 2004, Ms. Jones was a Marketing Executive at Hewlett Packard (HP)
where she spent 15 years developing the HP brand - creating a universally
consistent brand image by transforming and unifying HP's advertising,
sponsorship and communications campaigns. In 2005, Ms. Jones was named
"Marketer of the Year" by BtoB Magazine for spearheading DHL's $150
million 2004 re-branding campaign, and has since been ranked in the
publication's annual Best Issue in 2006 and 2007.
Rissig Licha, Fleishman-Hillard
Rissig Licha has more than two decades of experience as a communications
counselor in both the public and private sectors, especially in the
areas of strategic corporate counseling, corporate cultural transformation
and reengineering, public affairs, financial relations, public policy
counseling/government relations and issues/crisis management. In his
capacity as regional president for Latin America and executive vice
president of the Miami office, Mr. Licha directs servicing of accounts
in Florida, the Caribbean and Latin America. A seasoned bilingual, bicultural
professional, he has earned a reputation as a leading authority on public
relations in the emerging markets of Latin America. Within the region
he has led the communications teams for such textbook projects as the
Bayer aspirin/Reyes Syndrome crisis, the introduction of American Airlines
in 20 markets, the DuPont Hotel fire in Puerto Rico, the court-mandated,
28-country notification of settlement of the Dalkon Shield class action

Mr. Licha served as director of communications for the government of
Puerto Rico where he oversaw all external image efforts including the
promotional campaigns for Puerto Rico Tourism, Economic Development
and Rums Programs. He was also an award-winning journalist for El Nuevo
Da, the leading newspaper of Puerto Rico. Mr. Licha has a B.A. in journalism
and advertising from the University of Tulsa. He is fluent in Spanish
and English and has a working knowledge of Portuguese.
Elizabeth Marsh, Florida International University
Elizabeth Marsh, MFA, is an Assistant Professor of multimedia for the
School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Florida International
University. She holds a master of fine arts degree from the University
of Miami and an AB in English and American literature from Brown University.
Her current interests include social networking as a public relations
tool, web/virtual communities, and the impact of the digital divide
on technology based education.
Jorge Martinez, Conroy Martinez
Jorge Martinez, a 17 year veteran of the public relations and marketing
fields, is a principal with the firm. He serves as the Vice President
of the agency and has been with the company for 12 years. He excels
in the areas of media relations strategy and is especially well versed
in Hispanic marketing. He has handled public relations for a variety
of accounts in the corporate, retail, financial, real estate, travel,
entertainment and health care fields. Before joining The Conroy Martinez
Group, he worked for a mid-sized public relations firm where he handled
a wide array of accounts such as the South Florida Super Bowl XXIX Host
Committee, Federated Department Store's Burdines, Williams Island, Fisher

L. Luria & Son and Terranova. Mr. Martinez received a Bachelor of Science
degree in Communications from the University of Miami. Mr. Martinez
serves as Chair of the Senior Executive Orientation Committee of the
Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce and serves on the University of Miami
Citizens Board Executive Committee. In addition he is member of the
Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau, Latin Builders Association,
and the Public Relations Society of America. He is fluent in both English
and Spanish.
Lisa Mozloom, GolinHarris
Andy Newman, Newman PR
Vice President of NewmanPR, a South Florida-based media relations and
marketing firm operating for more than 60 years, Andy Newman has coordinated
media relations for the Florida Keys & Key West tourism council since
1980. In 1998, he began an effort to foster a unique relationship between
the Keys tourism industry and local emergency management officials to
help keep visitors safe in the event of a hurricane threat. The program
and relationship have served as models for other coastal destinations
and has been lauded by many in emergency management and a number of
media venues. In 2005, Newman won the Society of American Travel Writers
Gold Crisis Communications Award. In 2007, both the National Hurricane
Conference and the Florida Governor's Hurricane Conference honored Newman
and the tourism council with public service/public education awards.

Ramiro Prudencio, Burson Marsteller
Ramiro Prudencio is a Managing Director for Burson-Marsteller and leads
the agency's public affairs and corporate practices for Florida and
Latin America. With Burson-Marsteller since 1990, he spent 12 years
as a country manager for the agency in Chile and, more recently, Brazil
where he led that market's largest multinational public relations firm.
Additionally, Ramiro is co-lead of Burson-Marsteller's Global Key Client
Relationship Program, the agency's program dedicated to developing value-added
services for major global client engagements. Ramiro began his career
with the agency's public affairs practice in Washington. From 1990 to
1993, he was a member of the Burson-Marsteller team that supported the
Government of Mexico's successful effort to win public and congressional
support for the North American Free Trade Agreement. His corporate work
has included clients such as Odebrecht, Hewlett-Packard, Unilever, Lockheed
Martin, the Chilean farmed salmon industry, Nestl and other leading
companies. Prior to joining Burson-Marsteller, Ramiro served as a legislative
aide in the US House of Representatives. He also held a Ford Foundation/Congressional

Manny Ruiz, PR Newswire
Manny Ruiz is president of Multicultural Markets and Hispanic PR Wire

Lauren Stover, Miami-Dade Aviation Department
Lauren Stover is the Assistant Aviation Director for Security, Operations
and Communications, Miami-Dade Aviation Department, a division newly
created within the Miami-Dade Aviation Department (MDAD), and a consolidation
of functions not found in most U.S. airports. She is responsible for
all security, airside and terminal operations, including communications
activities in the County's system of airports. Stover, a 25-year veteran
of Miami-Dade County government, was recruited in 2003 by the newly
created Transportation Security Administration (TSA) from a senior management
position she held at Miami International Airport (MIA) for nearly a
decade. The federal agency, created in the wake of the 9/11 terrorist
attacks, tasked Stover with building a comprehensive public affairs
operation within the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) for the southeastern
United States and named her chief media spokesperson for more than 60
airports. In 2004, she was promoted to Eastern Field Director for TSA's
Office of Strategic Communications, overseeing security-related public
outreach programs for more than 200 airports in 20 states. During her
tenure she was at the helm of many sensitive news stories impacting
the Department of Homeland Security and conducted in-depth interviews
with many major news organizations on matters of national security.
She was recognized by the World Trade Center as International Woman
of the Year for her leadership in enhancing international business in
Florida and the Americas.

Bruce Turkel, Turkel Advertising
Bruce Turkel is an advertising and branding expert who helps make his
clients' brands more valuable. He has worked with great companies including
Nike, Discovery Channel, HBO, and the Miami and Kissimmee Convention
and Visitors Bureaus. Bruce has spoken at DMAI, MIT and Harvard, been
heard on NPR and CNN and featured in Fast Company and Communications
Arts Magazines. He has published three books on advertising and marketing
including his latest - Building Brand Value. Why has he done all this?
Bruce says it's simple: "I don't play harmonica that well."

Maria Elena Salinas
Noticiero Univision co-anchor
Univision Network Anchor Mara Elena Salinas, the most recognized Hispanic
female journalist in the United States, reached a major milestone when
she marked her 26th anniversary with Univision, the fifth largest television
network in the U.S. and the country's leading Spanish-language television
broadcasting company. Called by the New York Times, "the voice of Hispanic
America", Salinas has informed millions of Hispanics in the United States
and 18 countries in Latin America. As co-anchor of the highly rated
"Noticiero Univision" and the primetime news magazine "Aqui y Ahora",
Salinas has handled some of the most challenging assignments in modern
day journalism. Salinas' work has earned her several journalistic awards
including three national and one regional Emmys. She was also part of
the Univision news team that received the Edward R. Murrow Award for
the network's coverage of the Atlanta Olympic Park bombings. She has
also conducted several White House interviews with U.S. presidents,
and has been face to face with dozens of Latin American heads of state,
rebel leaders, and dictators.

George Neary
George Neary has been Associate Vice-President of Cultural Tourism for
the Greater Miami Convention Bureau since 1998. He is in charge of the
creation and implementation of a new arts and cultural program for Miami
Dade County. He directs promotional programs which encourage and increase
visitor attendance at local cultural events and attractions. His job
also includes creating linkages and partnership between Greater Miami
businesses and the arts community. Prior his current position, George
was the Executive Director of the Miami Design Preservation League of
Miami Beach, Florida, where he was responsible for creating marketing
and public outreach programs to preserve the historic Art Deco District,
better known as South Beach for 7 years. He is currently serving as
a Trustee for Dade Heritage Trust, a past Trustee of Miami-Dade Art
in Public Places, a board member of the Florida Trust for Historic Preservation,
Chair of The Miami Beach Fine Arts Board and a member of The Miami Beach
Cultural Arts Council. Additionally, he serves as the President of the
Childrens' Cultural Coalition, holds membership in the Black Archives
and is an Advisor from Florida to The National Trust for Historic Preservation.
He is an adjunct professor at Miami Dade College and a Trustee at Design
and Architecture Senior High School. He was President of Neary Enterprise
in Brooklyn, New York, which created, directed and administrated marketing,
advertising and promotional plans. He was Director of U.S. Marketing
for AFS Intercultural Programs, Inc. in New York. George was with the
Peace Corps for seven years as training and orientation coordinator,
recruiter/publicist and a volunteer in St. Vincent, West Indies. He
received his B.A. from St. Anselm College in Manchester, New Hampshire,
and has been involved in many community organizations over the years.

George Vazquez
George Vazquez is a media relations and Web 2.0 expert and has managed
national media relations initiatives and counseled companies and individuals
in understanding the evolving role of Social Media in helping expand
the reach of traditional press releases. He has also established and
maintained relationships with the General Market media nationally and
with the Hispanic Media throughout the U.S. With more than 10 years
experience in television and radio, as a news promotions writer, producer
and editor, and on-air talent for radio stations in Orlando and Miami,
he has also worked with a major commercial wire service as Director
of Trade Media Relations and as an account executive for a Miami area
PR firm where he specialized in travel and tourism accounts, among others
George holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Broadcasting and Political
Science with a minor in History from the University of Miami and is
a Lifetime Member of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists.

Amy Wagner

Amy Wagner is senior vice president, investor relations and global communications
for Burger King Corporation (BKC). In this position, she serves as a
key member of the company's global executive leadership team and reports
to the chief executive officer. Wagner oversees all of BKC's investor
and analyst relations, global internal and external communications,
public relations and event planning. She is based in the company's global
headquarters in Miami. Most recently, Wagner was senior vice president,
investor relations, focusing solely on global investor relations, where
she played a key role during the company's Initial Public Offering in
May 2006 and subsequent secondary offering in February 2007. Wagner
began her career with BKC overseeing select financial analysis initiatives.
