Navigating Ethics to Restore Trust
and Improve Personal and Business Success

A seminar on truth and trust in an era of “alternative facts”

PRSA Miami, in collaboration with the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce, invites public relations professionals and the business community to take part in an ethics discussion to analyze ways of dealing with misinformation and mistrust in the age of social media. Drawing on current and recent events, a panel of experts from business, law, the media and public relations will address the ever-evolving ethics of communication at a time of eroding trust in essential institutions and a proliferation of misinformation and deliberate falsehoods on current issues. The group will also address how strong ethics can improve personal and business success.

Members of the expert panel, which is part of the Public Relations Society of America's National Ethics focus, include:

Kety Esquivel, a multiple-award-winning senior vice president of Edelman Public Relations, will present the strategic communications firm’s 2017 Edelman Trust Barometer,a study revealing the largest-ever drop in trust across the institutions of government, business, media and NGOs. She has worked with top-tier agencies and clients in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, Asia, Africa and Europe for more than 20 years. A Cornell University graduate, she is also a popular blogger.

He joined Carnival in 2006 and oversees the program for brands in the U.S., United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Australia, China, and on 100+ ships worldwide. A graduate of the University of Oregon School of Law, he also was a special agent with the U.S. Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
