In-flight magazine panel with American Way, Celebrated Living & Nexos

Join PRSA Miami for a panel discussion featuring top national in-flight magazine travel editors from American Way, Celebrated Living and Nexos at the newly opened WeWork Ponce de Leon in Coral Gables. Guests will have the opportunity to learn more from these Miami-based editors and their coveted travel outlets. Topics include preferred pitching practices, tips on what digital media assets work best, current travel story trends, social media exposure and more! After the discussion, guests can mingle and network one-on-one. Everyone will be to treated to complimentary cheese and wine.

Bill Kearney is the editor-in-chief of American Way magazine and editorial director overseeing Celebrated Living and Nexos. He began his media career in New York as a television producer with Barbara Walters at The View, going on to work as both a writer and field producer for various outlets, including the Food Network, Fine Living Network and National Geographic International. After a transition to print and online journalism, Bill launched the Miami edition of online men’s magazine, and worked as a freelance journalist with national and international publications such as Wallpaper*, Food Republic and Sport Fishing magazine, as well as contributing to the Miami Herald and penning cover stories for the Miami New Times. Prior to leading the American Way team, Bill was the deputy editor of Ocean Drive magazine for four years.

Eric Newill is the editor-in-chief of American Airlines’ Celebrated Living magazine, produced by Ink. He has been an editor and writer for magazines, newspapers and the internet for more than 25 years, covering topics including entertainment, personalities, fashion, architecture, society and culture. For 15 years, he was managing editor of Miami Beach's Ocean Drive magazine. He has contributed to publications including Interview, The Village Voice and Neiman Marcus' The Book.

A fullbright scholar from Cali, Colombia, Leila Cobo is director of content for Nexos, American Airlines' Spanish and Portuguese in-flight magazine. She is also noted for her coverage of Latin music and for the past 16 years has been the executive director of Latin content and programming for Billboard, overseeing the brand's coverage of Latin music across all its platforms. These include and, which Cobo launched. Cobo also contributes to magazines like Latina and speaks frequently at conferences and universities around the world. Prior to Billboard, she was the pop music critic for The Miami Herald and was also a reporter for the Los Angeles Times


Mabel De Beunza is an accomplished marketing, branding, and public relations professional with more than a decade of experience. Having started the DeepSleep Studio Communications Division following a 15-year career in luxury hospitality, Mabel has built a reputation in the industry as a premier communications strategist. She is a luxury hospitality maven, instrumental in building and publicizing some of the most prestigious hotel brands including Loews Hotels & Resorts, the Trump National Doral Miami, and for the largest resort on the eastern seaboard, the revered Fontainebleau Miami Beach including pre-opening.
