Join PRSA Miami for this year's 33rd  Annual EvClay/PRSA Miami Chapter Endowment Fund Luncheon, which will be streamed via Facebook on October 2, 2020 at 3:30PM! The Virtual Awards will be a chance to reflect on the past year and honor those who have stood out for their work and leadership, those who have had dedicated their lives to the field of communication, and those who are our future leaders. We will also be celebrating eight outstanding scholarship winners from Florida International University, Florida Memorial University and the University of Miami. We hope you can join us for our first-ever virtual event!

Our 2020 Honorees:

Royal Palm Award - Lee Brian Schrager
Lee Brian Schrager, one of the nation’s preeminent event planners and media relations experts, serves as the Senior Vice President, Communications & Corporate Social Responsibility at Southern Glazer’s Wine and Spirits, LLC. He joined the company in 2000 and oversees projects in 44 U.S. states and the District of Columbia, Canada, and the Caribbean where they do business. Schrager is widely recognized for his creation of both the Food Network & Cooking Channel South Beach and New York City Wine & Food Festivals. Central to Schrager’s business philosophy is the notion of giving back to the community, and appropriately both Festivals are charity organizations. The South Beach Wine & Food Festival® has raised more than $28 million for the Florida International University Chaplin School of Hospitality & Tourism Management and the Southern Wine & Spirits Beverage Management Center located on campus. Proceeds from the Food Network & Cooking Channel New York City Wine & Food Festival have raised more than $12 million to date for the hunger relief organizations No Kid Hungry® and Food Bank For New York City.

Bill Adams Lifetime Achievement Award - Bernadette Morris
Bernadette Morris is the President/CEO of Sonshine Communications, an award-winning, full-service PR, marketing and advertising agency. Incorporated in 1993, Sonshine is one of the most successful and highly regarded Black-owned agencies in Florida. A woman of many talents, Bernadette manages multiple companies. She is also the CEO of Black PR Wire, a nationwide news distribution company serving the Black media throughout the U.S. and the Caribbean. Clients of BPRW include Business Wire, Coca-Cola, ASPiRE TV and others. Morris is also the CEO of her non-profit company, Women Grow Strong, Inc., which serves to educate, empower and inspire women and young girls. Bernadette holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Florida International University and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of North Florida. Prior to starting Sonshine, she served as Associate Dean of Public Affairs at Miami-Dade College. She has also enjoyed a successful career in broadcast journalism where she was a publicist for PBS/NPR, and a producer of children’s programs. 

Communicator to Watch Award-  Elizabeth Nickerson 
Elizabeth Nickerson is the Director of Marketing and Communications for the American Heart Association (AHA). During her time at the AHA, she was awarded the Rookie of the Year and Achievement of Excellence in Social Media Engagements for two years in a row. Just prior to her current position, Elizabeth worked at a boutique marketing agency where she managed public relations, branding and advertising services for multiple clients including one of the largest healthcare mergers and rebrands in the country. Previously, she was the Media Director for the City of Hialeah and led the marketing and communications efforts for Farm Share, Inc. – a large-scale food bank. Elizabeth began her professional career as a reporter in Tallahassee, FL for the CBS/FOX affiliate. She has a B.S. in Communications from the University of Miami and holds a Master of Science in Marketing from Florida International University.

Each year, our chapter also awards eight deserving students with the EvClay/PRSA Miami Endowment Scholarship. We are proud to be also be recognizing these wonderful students during our virtual awards:
